water eles are great, its just that fire is like a big blunt hammer; you just walop away with outh having to think, water makes you do that.
Theres one solid piece of advice in presearing; "if they cant reach you they cant damage you"
lots of water spells have slow down effects which makes them tactically more viable.
A water ele in a spell slinging contest will loose to a firestarter but in pvp and with a team a water ele can do damage and make everyones lives easier.
Plus mist form and armour of mist make good flag running skills
